About Our School
Rye High School is an accredited public high school, with approximately 1,020 students and a teaching staff of 79. Over 95% of our graduates enter universities and colleges. To meet the needs of all our students, we offer classes at the Honors and Regents levels. We also offer 21 College Board Advanced Placement courses. Last year, over fifty percent of our students participated in the AP program and took an average of 2.1 AP courses. Rye High School has been constantly recognized for its academic strengths by placing in the top 100 high schools in the national rankings conducted by The Washington Post and Newsweek Magazine. The Academy at Rye High School is a school of innovative learning, offering rigorous instruction that is interdisciplinary and founded on real-life applications through a largely project-based learning model.
We also offer an extensive extracurricular program which includes the performing and fine arts, instrumental and vocal music, service-oriented clubs, fund-raising clubs, student publications as well as diverse interest clubs which enable each student to select activities suited to his or her talents and interests.
