The National Council for the Social Studies states that the “primary purpose of social studies is to help young people develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.”  We believe this statement to be truer now than ever.  Our rich curriculum challenges our students to be independent critical thinkers, engages them in the skill of historical investigation, and encourages them to be an active voice in school, at home, as well as in our community.
